This course is an introduction to stellar structure and evolution. We will cover the basic physics that governs the properties of stars of different masses and ages, including their observed properties. Most emphasis will be on single stars.
The overall course grade will be based on homework, set approximately weekly, one midterm and the final exam. These will count for 20%, 30% and 50% respectively. The aim of the homework is to help you understand the coursework, so students are encouraged to discuss class material together, but homework must be completed alone.
