Iron superconductors

A month-old discovery of superconductivity at 55K in FeAs compounds has set the condensed matter physics world on fire. Here at Hopkins, our experimentalists have already performed high-quality measurements of a crucial physical property of these materials, the superconducting energy gap. The paper detailing the results of Chen et al. will appear shortly. In this talk, the authors will present their findings in a pedagogical format, accessible to all educated non-experts.
