PUC Lab Linux Computers
Two computers run the Linux operating system:
- fritz.pha.jhu.edu
- james.pha.jhu.edu
Accounts on these machines are distributed by the Department's Computer Center,
which is a separately managed entity distinct from the PUC Lab. To obtain an account on these computers, send an
email to request@pha.jhu.edu with your name, your affiliation with the Department, and where you want your account
information to be sent. If you do not already have a key to the PUC Lab, please see Brian Schriver in the main office
after having filled out the Account Application Form.
The software on the Linux machines has been installed by the Computer Center. It includes ROOT, a program used by students
in the advanced lab course, and IRAF, a program used by students of astronomy.
