| IDL Campus Site License Program |
|
The PHA Computer Center has signed a license agreement with ITT (formerly Research Systems Inc (RSI)) for 500 IDL licenses. You can use the links on this page to learn about the software and to request a license.
The FUSE and ACS groups have historically paid for a portion of the site license. Members of these groups have dealt with their local systems administrators to get installation media and licenses. FUSE users should continue to see Mary Romelfanger or James Caplinger.
ACS is now receiving support from the Computer Center. ACS team members should mention their affiliation when using the form below.
The Computer Center is reselling the remaining 250 to members of the department, and to the general Homewood public if any are left over. We cannot sell them to people on other campuses (such as JHMI or APL).
The price per license (for any platform) is $100 (or $105 if bought by individuals rather than grant or general funds budgets), which includes up to one year of maintenance (ending on 09/30 of each year). If you are still using the software after that date, you will need to pay a maintenance fee to continue using it. (That fee has historically been around $30/year/license.)
Consult the IDL web site (see link above) for operating system requirements and
to download the software.
