IDL Campus Site License Program

The PHA Computer Center has signed a license agreement with ITT (formerly Research Systems Inc (RSI)) for 500 IDL licenses. You can use the links on this page to learn about the software and to request a license.

The Computer Center is reselling these licenses to members of the department, and to the general Homewood public if any are left over. We cannot sell them to people on other campuses (such as JHMI or APL).

The price per license (for any platform) is $100 (or $105 if bought by individuals rather than grant or general funds budgets), which includes up to one year of maintenance (ending on 09/30 of each year). If you are still using the software after that date, you will need to pay a maintenance fee to continue using it. (That fee has historically been around $30/year/license.)

Paper copies of documentation and technical support are not included. You can download the software and PDF copies of the documentation from the vendor's web site after registering a (free) account.
