The Physics and Astronomy Computer Center maintains key computer
and networking infrastructure services upon which the department's
members rely to do their jobs. Whether you are a scientist or a budget
analyst, our efforts behind the scenes keep your email flowing, your
documents printing, and your connection to the Internet alive.
The Computer Center is one of several Information Technology groups providing computer support services to department members. These IT organizations focus their limited resources on different sizes of client publics. The University offers services at an Enterprise level; these tend to be free to all members of the community, but are generic in nature. Some research groups have activities which require hiring systems administrators dedicated to their specific projects and staff. The Computer Center has a departmental focus. It attempts to support the core IT activities of the department, while also reaching out to individuals and helping workgroup systems administrators.
