Magnetotransport of Bent Magnetic Nanowires

A key feature of electrodeposited nanowires is the ability to vary the composition along the length, allowing for the study of magnetotrasnport properties with current flowing perpendicular to the modulation. Here, we study the magnetic switching behavior of nickel nanowires, where the wires have been mechanically bent. Two separate transitions, corresponding to reversals of the individual segments, are observed. The dependence on wire orientation of these transitions indicates the presence of interactions between the two segments.
