The outreach programs run by the JHU MRSEC are designed to introduce the participants to modern materials research. The programs for teachers also provide assistance for curriculum development and access to the educational resources of the JHU MRSEC.

The administration and organization of these programs is carried out with the assistance of the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY).
