Concepts and Applications
of Soft-Collinear Effective Theory
March 25, 2005
Soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) provides a systematic approach
to understanding the factorization of short- and long-distance effects
in processes with energetic light particles. I discuss some of the main
ideas and concepts of SCET, and illustrate its applications to both
exclusive and inclusive B-meson decays.
