Simple Harmonic Oscillations

To re-cap from yesterday a system with a linear restoring force such as

supports harmonic oscillations of the form

where A is the amplitude, is the angular frequency and is a phase which depends on the choice of origin for time. We looked at the simple spring yesterday. Today we will build our experience with this phenomenon by looking at other classical systems which harmonic oscillations.
