Research: My work centers on understanding the mechanical response -- elasticity, plasticity, dynamic fracture, etc. -- of solid-like materials. These materials are of great importance both from a technological point of view and for providing a test-bed for furthering our fundamental understanding of non-equilibrium processes. My approach generally proceeds from an atomistic point of view and involves analytical calculations coupled with numerical modeling and simulation. |
