equation of state of an ideal gas

is: the equation which relates the number of moles, the volume the pressure and the temperature of a sample of ideal gas, where is the molar gas constant.   [P7.2, P7.3, P7.4]

is also known: as the ideal gas law, and may be written in a variety of ways. A particularly common form is where is the number of molecules in the sample and is Boltzmann's constant.   [P7.2, P7.3, P7.4]
