On May 17th 2007 Jami's Ph.D. was conferred at Johns
Hopkins University's 131st Commencement exercise.

On May 1st, 2006 Jami successfully defended her
dissertation, becoming
the first African American woman to earn a
Ph.D. in physics at JHU,
and the 2nd in the state of Maryland.
She will be moving on to the USPTO in July.
