Drove my car the 50-odd blocks up Wornall St. to Jay Wolfe Honda, to hopefully get 'er all fixed up. Got an oil change, new fuel filter (it was time, why not now?) and let 'em diagnose the brakes.

Went to Wolfe Photo Lab, dropped off some film and specified the CD of scanned pictures. That would be cool to start a webpage while here in KC. Gary went to work, I stayed with Granny, talkin' bout random stuff. Went through an old newspaper she had from the day she was born in 1915 (was it the New York Times?).

We all went to a Chinese Buffet for dinner, probably had as much grease as my car was experiencing back at th3e shop. Dropped Granny off, and Uncle G. and I caught some jazz at the 75th St. Brewery. I found out it was the 10th Kansas City Jazz and Blues Festival! The band at the bar would be playing the fest, they were a 7-piece swing band. They were Japanese, from Tokyo they said, and called themselves something like the "The Kansas City Band from Tokyo". If there's any sister city I think of when someone mentiones Kansas City, yup, it's probably Tokyo. We only caught the first set, but they rocked.

I didn't get many pictures in Kansas City. No pictures of Granny, unfortunately. Here's the only picture I took of Uncle G. Ladies, brace yourself before you check out this stud: Old-School Wassy-G

Back at the pad I was able to get X-Windos working in SVGA, 16-bit color depth at 800x600, so I was pretty psyched!
