Biography (or how did I get here)

I was born in Ottawa, ON sometime way back in the mid '70s. When I was still a preschooler we moved stateside to Womelsdorf, PA (the switch from urban to rural was hard). During my formative years I went to school at Conrad Weiser High School.

After high school I moved to Baltimore, MD so I could go to university. I had a great 4 years at Johns Hopkins. I worked in the Hopkins Ultraviolet Telescope Group while I was there and got my first taste of astronomy. I eventually graduated with BA's in physics & mathematics.

I then moved to Chicago and got a M.S. in physics from the University of Chicago. My second year there I worked for WMAP (Wilkerson Anisotropy Probe).

I then turned to the dark side (as an astronomer with a terrible sense of humor) and moved to Boston where I worked at the Center for Astrophysics at Harvard. I worked for the Chandra X-ray Telescope which was a great experience.

Now I'm back at Hopins finishing up my PhD. I work with Tim Heckman on galactic winds in starburst galaxies.
I try to keep myself busy. I spend most of my free time with my beautiful wife Jessica, amazing son Colin, our good dog Raven. I enjoy riding my bike, discussing the Red Sox, reading a good book, camping and drinking a fine wine.
