Fun Links
Here's some fun ways to pass the time, if you've got some time to kill:
- Bare Bones Guide to HTML - This is where I picked up my (admittably sketchy) HTML skills. It has lots of links to other good HTML websites too.
- Bored.com - Need I say more?
- Breyer Horses website - If you know me, then you know I collect these things. Breyer horses, the most realistic equines that won't make you sneeze if you're allergic to animals!
- Comics.com - Many of your favorite comics, available electronically! Check it out!
- Hoaxbusters - Fabulous resource for all those annoying emails announcing new viruses. Check it out here to make sure it's not a hoax before passing it on.
- Infinity Plus - A great website for the sf/fantasy reader, home to short stories and novel excerpts from many different authors.
- Particle Data Group - A magnificent gathering of all known information on subatomic particles.
- PhD Comics - EVERY graduate
student should be familar with PhD - Piled Higher & Deeper!
- Root homepage - For those of you who know of Root, CERN's fancy C++ based graphing program, I am truly sorry. But here's a link to their occasionally-helpful homepage.
- RooFit - And
the `fitting' companion (ha ha) to Root.
- The Universal Finder -
How we actually DETECT those sub-atomic particles: lots and lots
of computer code!
Friendly Webpages
- Scuba Mel - from high school
- Katy's page - one of
the few other females in my grad class at Hopkins; has pictures of
baby Rowan, and the starts of pictures for the new baby!
- My good friend TAR - fellow Hopkins grad - has the link to the Bloomberg Bip Top Circus pictures ;-)
- Dear John - another Hopkins grad, with some more interesting pics
- My own FNAL website - but don't bother checking it out, it's not nearly as extensive as this one.
- Petar's suggested thesis topics - My eventual thesis project may end up being one of these...
