Joining the Maryland Orchid Society
If you are interested in orchid culture and would like to meet others with similar interests, we cordially invite you to join the ranks of Marylanders already enjoying the benefits of membership in the Maryland Orchid Society.
The MOS brings together people interested in orchids to promote and encourage orchid culture, preservation, education propagation, hybridization, and all other orchid-related activities of interest to its members. Benefits of membership include a mailed subscription to the Newsletter, voting rights, borrowing priviledges from the MOS Library, monthly guest speakers, local judging, valuable door prizes, and much, much, more!
To join mail an application form to the Membership Chairman or come to a monthly meeting.
Meetings are held at: First Christian Church Hall, 5802 Roland Avenue, Baltimore, MD. This is just three blocks north of Northern Parkway on the west side of Roland Ave. For directions click here.

The Maryland Orchid Society holds an auction each year on the weekend after Thanksgiving. This year the auction was on Saturday November 30, 2002 and next year’s date will probably be the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The location is the Ellicott City Armory and the auction will run from 12 to 5 PM. Come and bid on all types of plants, including the finest divisions from our members' collections and plants from vendors such as Arbec Orchids, Andy's Orchids, Carmela Orchids, Kensington Orchids, and Little Greenhouse.
The Armory is on Rte. 103. Take Rte. 29 to Rte. 100 East. Take the first exit (1A) on to Long Gate Parkway. The parkway deadends after 2 lights at Rte. 103. Go left on 103 about 0.2 miles and the Armory will be on your left. For more information contact Cyrus Swett at (410)-750-8821.
