Where to Buy Yoo-Hoo in the Valley of the Saints

23 Sept. 2002

Well, I haven't been living in Salt Lake now for about two years. But as far as I know, most of this info is still up to date. I would guess that the Amoco entry is probably bunk now but I think that the others are all still okay. When I visited over Christmas, I know that the Yoo-Hoo was still flowing at Wiles like egg-nog at Winder Dairy. Go thank those guys for the love and have a cold Yoo-Hoo.

This page has taken quite a while to create. I am only posting this cheezy file right now because I need to get something up, no matter how sorry it is, so that I can get some of this information out to the people.

It has taken a long time to get Yoo-Hoo here in Salt Lake. There are now at least a handfull of spots where you can reliably locate the potion though here in the valley. For now, I will just list the sites in chronological order of when the spots were located. If you have any information regarding other sites where Yoo-Hoo may be obtained please drop me a line so that I can add your stores to this list.

Name Location Products Price Telephone
Wiles 6100 S. Highland Drive. Bottled Yoo-Hoo $1.19 272-0541
Wiles at State Street 8370 S. State Street, Midvale UT Bottled Yoo-Hoo $1.19 566-3586
Amoco Oil 400 S. 700 E. Bottled Yoo-Hoo $0.99
Sam's Club 3280 S. 900 W. Canned Yoo-Hoo 24cans < $10.00 974-0351

Note: The Amoco Oil is being pretty flaky with their carrying of the yoo-hoo. So be wary. You may not find the bevvy there if you try. I went by there a couple of weeks ago and they had it but a couple of days later they were sold out. It looks like they are at least trying to stock the goods.

By far the coolest place to buy (and the only one that I really know about) is from Kahn at Wiles. Tell him that you read about Yoo-Hoo here. He is always down for a good Yoo-Hoo story. And, if it appears that they are out, ask my man Kahn to look behind the milk, they keep a secret stash there for the die-hard users.

Kahn just told me today about the Wiles State Street location. I have not been there to confirm the presence of Yoo-Hoo there but Kahn says that they do have it there. You might want to give them a ring before you make any lengthy trecks to State Street.

Got an email today (30 May 2000) informing me that Sam's Club is now carrying canned yoo-hoo in cases. Here is an excerpt;

Sam's started carrying Yoo-hoo cans a couple of weeks ago, and you can buy a case of 24 for less than $10.00.

The address in Salt Lake City is - 3280 S 900 W Salt Lake City - 801-9740351

Sam's also sells Yoo-hoo cans in their clubs in Layton, Murray. Odgen and Provo.
