Subroto compares DoTD with a Bollywood Film
I was on the phone with Subroto this weekend and was telling him how cool the remake of Dawn of The Dead is, because it doesn't mess around with lengthy introductions and shit, it gets to the point. Here's a pseudo-transcript of the relevant part of our conversation:
Sundar: It's cool because within five minutes of the beginning, they
[the filmmakers] bring out the zombies
Subroto: ... Just like Ghulaam-e-Mustafa
where they bring out the ZOMBIE within five minutes!
In case you missed it, Subroto is referring to Nana Patekar.
If you haven't seen Ghulaam-e-Mustafa,
I strongly recommend the last 10 minutes of the film [I never sat
through the whole film and don't think I ever will]
We switched to that particular channel in the TV room at PD Block
and found this zombie saying stuff like, "Munni... Munni.... chalo,
aaina dekho.... mooh thik karo... jaao shaadi karo..." in his atonal
voice.
Maybe they should have let Nana Patekar dub for Tiffany Brisette
when making the Hindi version of The Small Wonder.
