TAKING PRAXIS I/II at JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY'S HOMEWOOD CAMPUS

So you will be taking the PRAXIS exam at the Johns Hopkins University's Homewood Campus and you have some questions?

HOW DO I GET THERE?

The campus is located in Baltimore, MD and the address of the building is 3701 San Martin Drive, Baltimore, MD 21218. If you click on the link you will be taken to the Yahoo Maps! website where you have to input your starting address and find the directions to get here.

WHERE ON CAMPUS WILL THE EXAM BE HELD? WHERE DO I PARK?

The exam will be held in Building 41 as shown on the campus map . The directions from Yahoo Maps! above will bring you directly to building 41 where the exam will be held. There is a parking lot next to this building where you can park. On all days EXCEPT for the day of the exam, this parking lot will be closed. On the day of the exam, the parking lot will be opened at 6 am.

There will be notices put up directing you towards the parking lot around the perimeter of the campus. Please look for these signs.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I GET THERE?

For the first session you should plan to be in the building by 7 am. For the second session you should be there by 10 am and for the third session you should be there by 2 pm.

WHAT TIME WILL THE EXAM BEGIN? WHAT TIME WILL I BE DONE?

Before we can start the exam, we have to check your id, seat you according to ETS regulations and read out specific instructions for your exam. All this can add anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to the scheduled exam time. Therefore a session 1 exam can start anytime between 8:30 am and 9 am depending on the size of the room. Session 2 exam can start anytime between 11 am and 11:45 am. Session 3 exams will start at 3:15 pm.

WHICH ROOM WILL I TEST IN?

There are about 50 different PRAXIS exams being held here on any given test date, therefore the specific room YOUR exam is being held in cannot be displayed.There will be notices with room inbformation for ALL exams put up in the examination building THE DAY OF THE EXAM. PLEASE DO NOT CALL for further information on this point.

There will also be hall proctors who will direct you to your rooms and generally be on hand to answer any questions regarding the administrative process of the exam.

WHAT MATERIALS SHOULD I BRING FOR THE TEST?

Please bring sharpened pencils, a pen, your photo id and admission ticket.

I AM STANDBY CANDIDATE, WHAT I NEED TO DO? WHAT TIME DO I NEED TO BE THERE?

We DO NOT have REGISTRATION FORMS at the center, no matter what you were told by ETS. You HAVE to bring COMPLETED RESIGTRATION FORMS if you wish to test standby at this center. We usually have enough books for 3/4 standby candidates for all exam, so you should plan to be at the center at the same time as the other candidates.
